
Many times people only think of eating fish with vegetables but you would be surprised to know the many the sides that are ideal for fish dishes. One such ideal side that is not generally used is pasta.
This recipe is a complete meal and will yield 6 servings so it is ideal for the entire family. It takes only half an hour to complete and so you will have an entire dinner meal done in a matter of a couple minutes. You will be providing your family with a nutritious meal that didn't have you slaving over the stove all afternoon.
Ingredients
- You will need
- a half of a sixteen oz box of Pasta
- Three tablespoons of virgin olive oil.
- You will then need a large onion cut in crescents,
- a green and a red bell pepper,
- 6 oz of julienne mushrooms,
- Two small sliced summer squashes with one being yellow and the other being green.or any other colors!
- 1-15 oz of sliced can tomatoes,
- a half a cup of chopped basil,
- one teaspoon of salt,
- half a teaspoon of cracked black pepper,
- 1/4 cup of parmesan cheese,
- 1 pound of flounder fillets and
- ½ cup cornmeal
Directions
Firstly you will need to place a large pot of salt water on the stove to boil. Then, using a large skillet heat one tablespoon of oil on medium heat. After this just add your peppers and your onions and sauté until they are almost soft. You can now add in the mushrooms, the squash and the zucchini. After this you will need to sauté for 2-3 minutes or a bit longer. Now stir in the tomatoes with the salt, pepper and basil until everything is mixed properly. Take one cup full of vegetables and put that aside for garnish. In the meantime you can boil your pasta going by the directions provided on the box or package. After you drain the water add the pasta to the skillet and mix it properly. Then take it from the stove or heated surface and toss in your parmesan cheese. Now pour the vegetables on a serving platter. Place a cover over this to keep it warm. Add pepper and salt to the flounder until it is to your liking. Then dredge in cornmeal. Then get a frying pan and heat the two tablespoons of oil over medium to high heat. You can then add the flounder and cook it until it is golden and flakes easily with a fork. Now you can serve your flounder with your pasta and garnish the flounder with the reserved vegetables.

Though this is not a true Francaise recipe it comes pretty close and tastes great as well. It is ideal for people who are lovers of French cuisine as well as flounder and would like to cook elegant and tasty meals at home. If you love seafood and like to use a combination of different types you will also love this dish as it uses both shrimp and flounder.
This meal will save you money for eating out at a French restaurant but it will still taste as good. If it doesn't the first time around you can rest assured that it will get better with practice. You can also tweak the recipe to get the desired taste you like, depending on what you want your major flavors to be. Here is what you will need for this recipe;
Ingredients
Batter:
- Six oz of parmesan cheese
- Eight oz of milk
- Two eggs
- A pinch of parsley
Mix together all the ingredients very well.
Sweet Lemon Sauce:
- Two cups of chicken stock
- Half a cup of lemon juice
- Half a cup sugar
Get a saucepan and combine all the ingredients in it. Bring them to a boil and then reduce by half.
Use these to your taste:
- Butter
- White wine
- Lemon juice
You will also use:
- Four 6oz flounder fillets
- Twelve 16/20 count shrimp which are cleaned and de-veined
Directions
Firstly, start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Now dip the fillets in the batter and then cook them in a non-stick pan with enough non stick cooking spray to coat the entire pan. Make sure you cook on all sides until the fillets get brown around 2 minutes on each side depending on the thickness of the fish. Then place the fillets in an oven pan and bake them for around 5-6 additional minutes. Now sauté the shrimp with a very small amount of butter, lemon juice and white wine, you can now take the fillets out of the oven. Pour the shrimp over the flounder in an even way and then top this with the sauce. You are now ready to serve this delicious recipe.
This recipe is ideal for serving alongside a salad or with potatoes. If you are a lover of rice you can also serve it on top of rice or other wholesome grains such as quinoa. You can choose to also eat it by itself if you so wish.
